Two students were shot in the cafeteria of Antioch High School in Nashville on Wednesday. Officials have confirmed that the suspected shooter is no longer a threat.

The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department reported that they responded to a shooting call at Antioch High School at 11:11 a.m. CT. The suspect, who inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound, is no longer a threat, according to a statement from Metro Nashville Public Schools. However, further details were not provided.

The school district announced that students would be gathered in the auditorium, and information regarding reunification would be provided as soon as possible. They emphasized that the scene is still an active crime investigation.

Students were being transported to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital as they were released from the scene by Metro Police, as per an update on the district's Facebook page. Parents are advised to go to the reunification site at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital and not to come to Antioch High School.

At this time, the conditions of the two students who were shot, as well as the suspect, are not available. Antioch High School remains on lockdown while police continue their investigation.
