Apple Pay faced significant issues on Wednesday afternoon, leaving many users searching for alternative payment methods. The problems, which began around 1 p.m. EST, included difficulties with fund transfers to Apple Cash, general payment issues, and trouble accessing the app.
According to DownDetector.com, which tracks online service outages, 54% of users reported issues with fund transfers, 38% faced payment problems, and 8% struggled to open the app. While the situation showed slight improvement by 2 p.m., many users continued to experience difficulties.

Apple's official service website stated that Apple Pay was largely functioning normally and attributed the issues mainly to Apple Cash. The company acknowledged the problem around 10 a.m. PST, confirming that only some users were affected. Over 300 reports were filed on DownDetector.com, a significant rise from usual levels.
Frustrated users flocked to social media, with many wondering if they were banned from using Apple Pay or seeking confirmation that the issue was widespread. One user urged Apple to address the problem quickly. Despite the surge in complaints, Apple has not made any public statements beyond the information on its status page.
